28, genderqueer (they/it), and some kinda werewolf greaser thing.
i'm not like, the biggest todd haynes fan, but i do love velvet goldmine. but i adore the velvet underground and i really loved this doc. as much about the whole world that surrounded them in NY at the time as it is about them.
and yes, i too want a jonathan richman doc. ideally just him telling stories for god knows how long. however long he wants to talk.
it's fun! some of the political jokes land, some don't, and none of the "satire" on that end is particularly deep even when the jokes are funny (the man quoting "immigrants, we get the job done" from Hamilton later being revealed as someone who only "likes" immigrants when they do things the "right way" felt like the most genuine political observation here, mostly because it doesn't actually draw attention to itself as such)
anyway, that aside, it's a fun romp, great performances all around, daniel craig does the hammiest shit i've seen all year and i loved it.
