Niall Blackie’s review published on Letterboxd:
Fret not, just because Studio Ghibli are 'taking a break' it does not mean we still won't get brilliantly crafted, funny and emotional anime films from Japan. Your Name is a hugely enjoyable film whose concept may not be wholly original however, it is just a joy to watch and lose yourself in the story.
Please though can I please insist if you are English speaking that you see ot in Japanese with subtitles. Cineworld in Edinburgh decided to treat us to the first 5-10 minutes of the dubbed version before realising they were showing the wrong version and restarting it with the subtitled one. Even this short period of film highlighted why films are always better in their native tongue rather than horrendous dubbing that can strip away the very character of the film.
