By all accounts, having Greta Gerwig and Ethan Hawke together onscreen should’ve made my heart explode. It didn’t. But this movie’s still fun.
Holy cow this was great.
So much more heart than I was expecting, largely carried by a fantastic performance by Gal Gadot. Chris Pine is also really good.
It's not without its flaws (certainly some of the elements in the third act) but it's just so damn refreshing to see a woman at the helm. It actually made me realize how sick I am of stories of generic white dudes. It's not like this film is a huge turning point…
There’s a lot of great, visceral action in here. Fun seeing it a second time.
One thing I love about all the M:I movies is how whenever the characters are describing how difficult it’s gonna be to achieve their goal, they’re just outlining why it’s gonna be so much more fun to watch.
