    Squid Game

Well the show fully justified the hype around it.The game scenes were fun and genuinely thrilling and there was real quality acting and heartfelt emotions especially in episode 6.Sadly a few things in it were a massive let down.

The last episode felt rushed, not enough time was given to the final game between gi-hun and sang-woo..the introduction of the VIPS and the dialogue they were given was awful and I really was pissed off with the way they decided to…

  • The First Wave

    The First Wave

A very very harrowing and upsetting documentary focusing on the first wave of covid-19 that hit new york in 2020

Director Matthew Heineman is giving unlimited access in following the staff of one of the hardest hit hospitals in NY and we witness just how tough it was for all during this frightening time.We also follow the journey of a few select patients as they begin their battle to recover from covid-19.

Some scenes will move you to tears and some scenes will bring a smile to your face.A difficult but essential watch.

  • Red Notice

    Red Notice

Maybe the time has come for netflix to give up on making movies and stick to what they are good which is making top quality shows.

Now this did start off well,a couple of good action scenes and the jokes between johnson and reynolds flowed well but once they begun their journey to find the second egg..it all went downhill from there.

Gadot's wooden acting and god awful attempts at singing coupled with the lack of chemistry between all three leads and the horrible last 15 minutes of the film took this into "thunder force" territory of film.

An absolute stinker of a movie.

  • The King of Staten Island

    The King of Staten Island

Didn't know much about pete davidson before watching this film but have a better appreciation of him now after watching this half decent comedy/drama.

A semi-autobiographical story it shows how davidson's character copes with being a young man in new york while also struggling to decide what direction to take his life in.

Good performances by tomei, davidson and burr help get through the slightly over long running time over 2 hours and 11 minutes.

  • Superman III

    Superman III

Compared to the first 2 films this movie is an absolute joke. The only saving grace was the fight between clark and the bad superman.Poor margot kidder was completely sidelined and was in it for no more than 10 minutes in total and richard pryor looked lost and embarrassed.

  • Black Friday

    Black Friday

So here we have a b-movie horror set in a large toys-r-us type store where the customers have been infected with some sort of alien parasite and its down to a few store employees to try and save the day.

Once inside the store the infected all start to gather and go into some kind of alien cocoon and eventually end up creating this poundland version of godzilla at the end.

Admittedly I only decided to watch this because the…

  • Venom: Let There Be Carnage

    Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Eddie and venom are back and for me this sequel is an improvement on the first movie. There is more action and a lot more laughs especially between the two heroes.

Harrelson makes a decent fist at playing escaped serial killer cletus kassady who after being bitten by venom becomes the symbiote carnage, noemie harries is ok as shriek as is stephen graham as detective mulligan.

It could have done with being a bit longer as the movie seem to fly by at times. All in all an enjoyable movie.

  • Superman II

    Superman II

A slight upgrade on the original thanks to the introduction of the 3 kryptonian villains led by terence stamps brilliant general zod.A real fun movie especially in the scenes where they square off against each other.

  • Superman

Yeah it looks a little clunky and cheesy today but make no mistake this is one of the films that set the trend for superhero movies.

    Is it a bird..is it a plane..no its a bloody good film.

  • The Amazing Spider-Man 2

    The Amazing Spider-Man 2

It's a disgrace that garfield never got to complete the trilogy for his spider-man.The potential they had with the sinister six was massive but the dickheads at sony somehow fucked it up and left us without.

Personally garfield is my favourite spider-man (the other two are great so don't come at me complaining) and would have love to seen him interact with the likes of kraven the hunter and the others.

  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Very impressive introduction for shang-chi into the MCU.Some top tier fighting sequences and impressive sequences,ok the plot kept you engaged and didn't lag at all

The cast was excellent all round especially from liu as this was his first full film as the lead.

A fresh and exciting new addition to the marvel cinematic universe.

  • The Amazing Spider-Man

    The Amazing Spider-Man

Not bad but not brilliant either. Some good points (garfield and the stan lee cameo) and a few not so good (the lizard and some slightly dodgy CGI)

It erases the memory of the nightmare that was spiderman 3 but doesn't come close to matching 1 and 2.
