I know it’s basically hack to say this at this point but goddamn we used to make real fuckin’ movies at one point, huh? You could never make this today, these days audiences would be too afraid from seeing Paul Bettany strum his cello like a guitar.
Ol’ Stevie’s still got it. I think it’s easy to screw up this kind of semi-autobiographical movie so it’s a miracle that it works as well as it does. I cried a few times, some of it made me think of when I was really young and me and my friend Warren would make stop motion LEGO movies on my parents’ camcorder. Also, shout out to David Lynch
