honestly, coming from a fan of the book i was very excited and intrigued by the characters (boris nation rise) but it felt like it was missing an essential layer that could truly bring it all together. It was very dull at times as well as feeling choppy and rushed. Also, super disappointed in the second half (Amsterdam), which is one of the most important and valuable parts of the novel in my opinion, but it was completely rushed and almost skipped over all together. Ultimately, i did enjoy it, i didn’t feel the length and i was excited to experience the scenes that i loved from the novel, however these scenes did feel underwhelming at times. The Goldfinch is an ambitious adaptation, that unfortunately just didn’t quite hit the mark how i hoped it would.
