Nicole Van Sant’s review published on Letterboxd:
Wow. South Korean cinema at its absolute best.
There are no big revelations and no obvious light bulb moments but burning manages to keep your attention and occupy your thoughts throughout. It is a sensual and mysterious thriller that slowly burns until it erupts into flames in the final act. The cinematography matches the eire feeling that seeps from the screen as you watch.
It features superb acting all round but Steven Yeun in particular delivers an understated and all round creepy performance as the stranger you wish you never met, but yet are undeniably drawn to.
