The first Wes Anderson movie I watched was The Grand Budapest Hotel. And unlike pretty much everyone else on the planet, I can’t say I liked it. A couple years later I tried to give Wes another shot with Moonrise Kingdom and again I was very much let down. I just didn’t get what the fuss was about his movies. However, he finally connected with me when I watched The Royal Tenenbaums. And now he’s done it again with Fantastic Mr. Fox! Such a fun and clever animated movie and it’s a shame that I waited 12 years to finally watch it.
Mr. Fox. This movie is full of fun characters but none stand out more than the protagonist.
The Wolf scene was very interesting but my favourite would be the final showdown between the humans and animals.
Franklin Bean: What are you singing, Petey?
Petey: Erm... I just kind of made it up as I went along, really.
Franklin Bean: That's just weak songwriting! You wrote a bad song, Petey!
The movie is composed of almost 56,000 shots.
If You Liked This Then Watch..
Isle of Dogs (2018) is the most obvious choice. But since I haven’t actually seen it I would recommend Clooney’s other heist film, Ocean’s Eleven (2001).
