This movie has so much to offer.
First of all, great acting. Song Kang-Ho is just such a phenomenal actor and Shin Ha-kyun portrays the main role so well. I normally have slight problems with non-disabled actors playing disabled characters, but Shin Ha-kyun plays Ryu with such honesty and heart. This is obviously supported by Park Chan-wooks directorial work. Especially those scenes where the sound is off.

Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives 2010
Hypnotizing, dreamy and mesmerizing. Like an art gallery. Illogical. Those words describe this movie pretty well. But I feel like it’s way more than that. It, to me, asks the important questions of life, like “Where do we go when it’s over?”, “What’s the purpose of life?” and “Who am I?”. To do that, I give Apichatpong Weerasethakul, or short Joe, the highest praise. I don’t understand this movie, but that’s not what matters. It’s about the experience. My favorite moments have to be the scene with the catfish and the princess and the shots with the eyes of the ghost monkeys.
