Nikan Arami’s review published on Letterboxd:
We're on from the get-go; this has one of the best set-ups in an action movie that I can think of. Even the opening credits are not wasted.
The premise is ridiculous, yet the script milks it as much as it can; we get a kick-ass chase at the beginning (the airport), and then one at the end (on the boats) and between the fights in the middle, our characters having their moments with their loved ones and their selves ("each other"s that is. crazy.)
The running time can be felt at times, but John Woo directs the shit out of this, so we're never lost. Cage & Travolta's due man. A day later and just thinking about them brings smile to my face.
