There's one thing that Room did for me that very few films have done this past year: heighten my sense of anticipation for the next moment. It's not a suspense film in the traditional sense, but you're dealing with with a young mother and her five-year old son who are learning to cope in what is, to them, a new world. Everyday is new challenge for Joy and Jack, so you wait to see what obstacles the next day is going to bring them. Heartbreaking and inspiring, Room features two phenomenal performances by Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay that are honest to a fault. It's amazing.
