One of those "cult classics" that the hip kids who love it would tear apart if it came out in theatres tomorrow.
Hooptober Review #9:
The brains behind The Evil Dead take their first swing at horror with the surprisingly suspenseful 7 minute slasher. Sure, there's not much in the way of story, but already one can see Raimi playing with style, discovering the shot choices and editing techniques he'd later put to use in his historic horror trilogy. The film is taut, effective and ultimately satisfying for its brief run time.
