Horrible experience. Went to a screening in New York, unironically my theatre had 20 cops inside of it and they patted us all down; there was even a fucking k-9 unit there.
Whenever there was a violent or disturbing scene occuring, the cops would look up at us in the audience to make sure none of us were becoming incited. Terrible.

The Night of the Hunter 1955
Really liked this film. A gripping narrative thriller. Loved Mitchum in this, as he has this supernatural evil charm about him. Loved Gish too, she really commanded the final act. Beautiful looking film, with it’s harsh gothic shadows.
Reading up on the film makes you realise of a huge loss. It was Charles Laughton‘s first and only directed feature. He was very unsure of himself on set and the critics destroyed it; this was despite its huge quality. Seems like he went back to theatre after this. Recommend.

Pretty oblivious to the real reality of things. If you have a Northern English experience (particularly that of Yorkshire) you can attest to how truly insulting this piece is. Borderline propaganda.
