    This is a very flawed movie, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. No movie can ever be that bad if both Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe are in it. They are two of my favorite actors and I loved seeing them on screen together. This movie just has really great world-building, so it’s easy to forgive the fact that the characters are all very one-note. It’s just an obvious case of style-over-substance. Still, it’s a very cool film and it explores vampires in a totally different way. I don’t care about watching it again, but I’m happy I saw it.

I can’t believe this was his first film, as it feels like something from a filmmaker who’s been at it for years.     Toy Story 2 somehow manages a balance between fun and scary. I can’t think of many, if any, animated films that deal with existentialism, identity, and self worth to the extent that this film does. There is no denying that this a really fun and entertaining film, but there is also lots to talk about after it’s over as well. It’s the perfect Pixar film because it keeps the kids happy and it gives the adults something to think about.…
