Noah Kern’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is still far from my favorite Wong Kar-wai film, but it has some really great stuff. The music, the cinematography, the screenplay, the last 5 minutes; a lot of it works for me. For some reason though, I find it terribly long and it always feels like a lesser version of Chungking Express. It’s style is totally interesting, but imo the story isn’t. I was hoping it would click for me a little more on rewatch, but by the end I still felt lukewarm. I totally get the love for it, but ultimately it’s just not my thing.
