Noah Kern’s review published on Letterboxd:
Out of the 7 Coen Brothers’ films I’ve seen, this is by far the best. It’s not necessarily my favorite, (I really love A Serious Man) but this is definitely their best, and it could easily become my favorite in the future. It’s funny, it’s tragic, and it’s just an extremely well made film all around. I also watched it at the perfect time, because there’s snow outside my window, and this is a very cold movie. There are little things in here that I really love like the sort of glow the whole movie has. It’s very hard to explain that, but you 100% know what I mean if you’ve seen it. I also just think everybody in this is sooooo good. Oscar Isaac is perfect for this role and Carey Mulligan steals every scene that she’s in. I’m pretty excited to revisit this at some point and just pick up on some of the little things I didn’t before. It took me way to long to get around to this, but I’m really happy I finally did.
