Noah Kern’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is easily one of Scorsese’s crowning achievements. Sitting at a runtime of three hours, it’s entertaining the entire fucking time. It definitely does feel like it’s that long, but it’s never hard to get through that runtime. It’s a bit messy at points imo which slows down the pacing, but for the most part, it’s a breeze to get though. It’s also sort of a movie for everyone in a way; douchebags will like it because almost every character in the movie is one and smart people will like it because it’s obviously a criticism of those type of people. While fun, it’s hard to see the direction it’s going in in the beginning because these are pretty impossible characters to redeem. Then the last 30 minutes come around and completely alter the way you see these people. It’s miserable watching these coked-up assholes start to realize where they went wrong. It’s far from my favorite Scorsese, but it’s still really amazing and I’d definitely say it’s one of his best.
