“No more 1 sentence joke reviews” I tell myself.
I crack my knuckles, about to begin writing about how masterfully crafted this film is.
But all I can think about is Oscar Isaac dancing.
I clear my head and try to start again. Maybe I’ll start with the use of colour and how a scene’s tone can be summarized by the use of lighting. Or maybe I’ll write about Alicia Vikander’s phenomenal performance that walks the line between showing child-like curiousity as well as thinking 5 steps ahead.
But all I can think of is Caleb’s confused stare as Nathan says “I’m going to tear up the fucking dance floor dude, check it out” and then proceeds to do just that.
