I’m thinking of getting metal legs…
An entertaining ride full of great music and great visuals but the script is half baked. Overall story arc ends up not hitting as hard as I’d like it too and often plays things pretty safe. Not very scary either. I wish Edgar decided to go a little bit further down the rabbit hole of crazy. Thomasin McKenzie was great and I’m excited to watch her act in stuff for a long time.
Full of funny quips, pleasing aesthetics, and some moving thoughts on clinging to the past, but it still doesn’t totally gel for me. I feel like the comedy didn’t blend as well with the melancholy as it does in other Wes stuff. Wish this was 90 minutes, it’s his longest and it really feels like it. Still fine!
