I'm thinking of watching this again before writing concrete thoughts on it. Suffice to say I love most of it but felt the same way I did about the source material in terms of where it ultimately ends up. “Is penis measuring too vulgar for political discourse?”

An experience that combines unbridled toxic masculinity and role-playing politics that highlights why this country is the way it is. This is an energized, well-observed microcosm of an ugly system that should be dismantled in hopes of a complete overhaul.

Big turnaround here! It took me a 2nd viewing to finally declare this is as a masterpiece of subtle spikes of paranoia, exploring the mystery at the heart of a hard crime, be it personal or political or both. My initial review is that this film is a meandering mess, but it's not. There are detours that add up to the overall idea that I THINK both PTA and Pynchon share: narratives don't matter in this cluttered cultural landscape, it's…
