Noah Thompson’s review published on Letterboxd:
"I've got a tape I want to play." - David Byrne
When I joined this place, I made sure that Stop Making Sense was the first film I added to my watchlist. As a fan of film and an even bigger fan of Talking Heads, it was priority number one. And my god, was it worth the wait for me.
Now, is Stop Making Sense the greatest movie ever made?
...Yeah, probably.
What can be said about it?
The music is phenomenal. The choreography is phenomenal. The cinematography and editing is phenomenal. The entire band, and especially David Byrne, are absolute machines. Byrne is lyrical, vocal, and physical perfection.
Everything that can possibly be great in a concert film, and really, just a film in general, is not only great but impossibly incredible.
Jonathan Demme, thank you for one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. Rest in peace.
David Byrne, never die. Please.
