This sequel deserves a lot more love than it gets. It definitely is a completely different take on everyone's (or at least my) favorite cannibal family, but that's the best part about this film! We see a new side of each character we've been familiarized with from the 1974 movie (Leatherface's crush on the radio DJ, Drayton's new-found enthusiasm for the family's line of work) and we're also introduced to my personal fave of the Sawyer clan, Chop Top, who to me is one of the greatest (and underappreciated) antagonists I've ever encountered in any horror film. I mean, come on! He's a schizophrenic hippy with a metal plate implanted in his head, you can't beat that. Mind you, he also has the most memorable lines. I could go on and on about this film, but I should probably stop here. What I'm trying to say is, this film is just brilliant, and I'm glad Tobe Hooper decided to go in this direction! And for those of you who believe this film is utter trash, well, you can lick MY plate!
