Obsessed with Films’s review published on Letterboxd:
He’s done it again that Hitchcock! Dial M for murder is a thrilling, interesting crime thriller with a short runtime of 1hr45. The plot is basically an ex tennis pro discovers his wife is cheating on him with an American crime author, so he hires an ex convict who he knew in college to murder her in what he believes is the perfect murder. However, things don’t quite go to plan and that’s all I’ll say about it! The four leads (Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings and John Williams) are all great, especially Milland who’s line delivery is excellent- his character is really likeable and you empathise with him (even though he is planning his own wife’s murder) which is down to the great performance by Milland. As always with Hitchcock, the film is very well directed and with a number of small twists throughout the film, the plot keeps you interested right until the end of the film. A must watch crime classic!
