A Nightmare on Elm Street

A Nightmare on Elm Street ★★

Whilst the basic element of this film is the same as the original (Krueger invades some kids dreams only he can kill them for realsies) that's about where the familiarity stops.

Although it's not quite as bad as I'd been led to believe, it's still pretty poor overall. The biggest problem it has is that it took itself way too seriously, missing the point entirely. They just made a regular modern slasher with supernatural elements.

Elements that they're too lazy to think up on their own so used some from an older film. Then, they took the name of that film, slapped it on this film, and called it a remake.

As annoying and insulting as it is, pretending for a moment that there is no such thing as Wes Craven's original, it's... not that horrendous...

I'm sorry. I won't say that again.
