Seen as part of Kermode Presents

Saw this on a 35mm print with an intro and Q&A from Mark Kermode, which started last year with Silent Running. The Q&A and quality of the projection were, as last time, exemplary.

The film itself is beautiful but mostly heartless, all of which has been said before. Whatever anyone else has said: I concur. The only time I was truly emotionally engaged was during the Dawn of Man sequence, because, seriously, how can you not love baby monkeys?
