this was so good. funny and bittersweet. Murphy and Lawrence have such great chemistry, and the ensemble cast is STACKED.

  • Shaft

I need more of Shaft as a Greenwich Village bartender

  • Knock at the Cabin

    Knock at the Cabin

Dumbest shit since the reaping, but at least the reaping reveled in the schlock rather than propping itself up with sanctimonious seriousness.

    The World of Tomorrow

if I were an exec and saw this I would absolutely have greenlit the feature and I love the feature, so I'm grateful to whichever exec did

  • The Fishbowl

    The Fishbowl

nice melancholic film to end Sundance with

  • Mutt

solid entry in the one chaotic day genre

  • Mamacruz

the horny scenes were great, as were the scenes where the women were speaking freely amongst themselves, but overall this felt a little too conventional until the last shot

  • The Accidental Getaway Driver

    The Accidental Getaway Driver

great cinematography by Michael Fernandez and chemistry between Hiep Tran Nghia and Dustin Nguyen, but this feels overlong and overwritten

  • Cassandro

well crafted crowdpleaser with a winning performance from Gael García Bernal, but I wish it had as much personality as Marie Losier's doc "Cassandro, the Exotico!". That said, the scene where he takes inspiration for his character from his mom's strength (and her leopard print leotard) and the scene with the kid who said he helped him come out made me cry.
