    Eyes Without a Face

This didn't really do it for me, very straightforward plot with barely anything memorable going on. The mask is great, the premise is good, but the film really doesn't a whole lot with it. It's not overly scary or suspenseful in my eyes, aspects which could have been interesting are quickly resolved (for example i'd thought that the first victim would meet her and look at her own face), the ending tries to be symbolic but at that point i…

  • Dracula

This is the closest adaptation of bram stoker's novel dracula i have seen (though it seems to take its liberties) and while i think the narrative is more interesting compared to the nosferatu versions, it's also a mixed bag. One notices that this was supposed to appeal to a lot of people, a cheesy love story, funny one liners, and other rather mainstream ideas got muddled in with the core story. In its best moments you see coppola's genius, in its worst you think you're watching mediocre blockbuster cinema.
It's alright, but i'd say it's time for me to experience the original source material.

This is a rewatch for me personally, the first time i saw this film about 10 years ago i was majorly impressed by it, thought it was one of the best movies i had seen at that point in time.
Now a decade later i experienced a lot more stories both in visual and literary mediums and the initial euphoria developed into disillusion.
Don't get me wrong, the movie isn't bad by any means, it has a great atmosphere which…

    Before Sunrise

See i usually hate romance films, they are too corny, i never can relate to the characters and understand why they fall for each other.
    This one is different!
In "Before Sunrise" we basically follow two people in their early twenties enjoying their company for one day in vienna. They walk around the city which gives us beautiful shots of the scenery and just have conversations about what is important to them at that moment in time, it's incredibly genuine…
