Burning ★★★★½

Dull at times but tense at others, Burning rewards patient viewers with a fascinating political allegory, a brilliantly conveyed script with telling dialogue both detailed and subtle, hidden metaphors, remarkable performances, and a slow-burn pace that only reveals its massive impact by the time the stirring finale comes around. For it disappears like a puff of smoke, and we are left with a Great Hunger.
