Jared’s review published on Letterboxd:
Although it is likely the least cinematic of the eight films, and usually one of the lesser regarded ones, I love this movie. Christopher Columbus better than any other director in the franchise establishes such a lovely and charming atmosphere, as many of the book's fans likely envisioned while reading. It is enjoyable to see the young actor's find their footing, and I basically tear up during Christmas at Hogwarts, no matter the film. I like to think the reason this feels a bit inferior to the other films is because much of the dialogue and acting is dedicated to "Oohh!" and "Ahhh!"'s as the characters discover this world of magic. This gets a pass from me, because I too, like the characters, love discovering Hogwarts for the first time.
Despite the general consensus on this film, I find it to be utterly charming, cute, magical, entertaining, and an all around fun adventure film.
I have officially embarked on my Harry Potter marathon.
