There must be a scratch on my copy of the Social Network. About halfway through the film, the film paused for just a second too long after one of Ty Winklevoss's lines. Normally, I'd take the glitch in stride and continue on with the film unhindered and indifferent. However, as the small glitch occurred, I was completely detached from the film for that moments and many more after it. This is the precise nature of David Fincher's filmmaking. The score, the cinematography, pacing, script, acting, and cuts all work together in such a harmoniously meticulous way that it perfectly embody the grain of sand in a computer chip analogy.
