Powell and Pressburger really just had a eye for the fantastical that was miles beyond a lot of their contemporaries.

Great call backs to the past while looking to the future. David and Catherine have carried on a brilliant run from their original time as if 2008 was 5 minutes ago.

Theres elements here that work but not like this.
It never commits to a tone. Its not funny enough to be a satire and it doesn't give its characters enough agency for it to be an effective Drama.
