Letterboxd — Your life in film

This is one of my favourite movies so this might be biased. Zombieland spoke to me in so many ways it touches on loneliness, irrational fears, relationships and death all wrapped together by Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson in this quirky dark comedic story about unlikely friends surving by simply having each others back. I know that kinda story has been done many times in film but very few of them do it as good as Zombieland does. It’s a classic.

First off, this movie is fucking hilarious. It encaptures the awkwardness, the need to find an identity, the want of validation and the heart pounding moments before you kiss that girl you like the first time. Everyone remembers going through all those things at that age so what makes it funny is the reality of it, when there’s a joke in the movie you think back for a few seconds to when something similar happened to you and it makes it 10x more authentic.

I think “Baby driver” is going to be a cult classic it was just cool as fuck for real and not “lets make this movie seem authentic to relate to a younger audience who tends to share the things they watch” type cool. Seeing Jon hamm and Jamie Foxx in an antognist role working off each others energy kept me glued.  I stumbled upon this film by accident too, it’s a pleasant accident. Everything just fit.

This movie is in my top 5, I fucking love it. The movie engulfs you into what feels like a time machine, you’re now back to a time before Facebook was Facebook but this time your along for the ride, a fly on what is a very important wall. - Jaye

I think this movie is slept on, critically it didn’t do well at all but let me explain why. When a movie has multiple A list actors people assume if its not a block buster hit its not a good movie, that’s just not true. “Tag” is a genuinely funny coming to age film. It’s about a group of friends who play an endless game of tag because they don’t want their friendships to fade away like most do, who can’t relate to that?

This movie did exactly what it was meant to do, be a funny mockumentary. For a film with virtually no roll out its doing pretty well. I laughed my ass off the whole way through if you’re familiar with the orginal youtube show and you’re looking for something funny and different then this movie is for you. This is something you just watch, you don’t need to read into it or you’ll ruin it for yourself.

Okay, I guess ill be the one to say it. This movie is fucking terrible, this isn’t just some studio trying something new out, the Annabelle series is a huge series! There is almost no story line at all in the movie and when there is one you can barley follow it or have the “want” too do so. I was bored through out the entire movie. If you have a chance to go see “Annabelle Comes Home” instead take that money buy some weed and walk around in a dark basement for an hour and 46 minutes cause that sounds a lot better.
