I needed a break from Bond and watch another British icon for a change with a group of friends.

The gold standard of how you do a two part finale of a film series unlike any other. This first part of being a more quiet and more character driven drama than a more of a non stop action packed thriller in Part 2 was a smart decision amongst others.

So much works to a tea. From the gloomy and beautiful…

Holy fucking shit. I haven’t seen a film where it gave me such the stupidest grin on my face and getting too emotionally attached to where it screamed at me, “Hey. This is going to be your type of film to watch over and over again, because this is your shit right here” in a very long time. Like this is maybe the best comic book film best since Into the Spiderverse

I have a lot to say and process. But…

    Hey

    Hi

    Sorry about the noise

I was gonna call the cops

    I wish you would

Happy 10th birthday to one of the most visually appealing, most stylish vibing, most violently brutal, and most real and raw human films I ever seen. I wish I can go back in time to the first time I saw this film and being truly transparent with my cinephile mind as this film helped him changed the way he views films as an art form.

I completely forgot they used the Lawrence of Arabia theme in this. It’s crazy, but I kinda love it.

The absolute peak of the Roger Moore era of Bond. Truly capturing the wonderfully cheese and over the top ridiculousness of the films that came before, while giving its own voice to stand out from the crowd.

So many of the best of the series in terms of action sequences, Bond girl/villain, directing, visual style, and capturing the earnestly core of Bond is applied in here.

Definitely one of the best of the series for sure.

Imagine you were an animator at Disney and you wanted to make your own animation studio that gives you a name that you can stand out from Disney, only to have Disney purchase a studio which your film was distributed by and the film is now consider a “Disney” film and your lead characters is technically considered a Disney Princess. That must have sucked.

This film is still good, and Anya is an animated icon who should be protected at all costs.

Wow. That opening scene is really cool and the theme song is a banger. Not to mention that Christopher Lee pulls off as a pretty cool Bond Villain.

Too bad the rest of the film is mid AF tho.
