    Baby Blood


    Baby Blood is a quintessentially French comedy-cum-body-horror from the early 90s with oodles of blood, gore and nudity.

    I'm a big fan of the pregnancy horror sub-genre and this totally hits my sweet spot.

    I'm a little surprised this is not more widely seen, but I suspect if it had been US made in English it would have ten times the recognition despite almost certainly being nowhere near as good.

    Film #13 from my list for Hoop-Tober 3.0 challenge.

    I have never found cinematic adaptations of Frankenstein particularly engaging or inspiring. A classic ‘monster movie’? Absolutely. A profound and richly complex exploration of humanity and the human condition? Not so much.

    That is until now.

    This modern day interpretation by Bernard Rose is truly outstanding and I urge you to see it.
