Painfully average. However knocking this film solely on the fact it isn’t Portrait of a Lady on Fire is lazy and boring even if it does blatantly steal a lot from that film. It’s a film that establishes its world better than Sciamma’s but also doesn’t spend long enough developing the characters and their relationship. Kate Winslet is divine but I wish Saoirse Ronan would just get her Oscar already so she would stop making this exact film every single year.
