Honestly I don’t hate James Cordon in this. Yes, Nathan Lane is right there, but Cordon’s take on a flamboyant gay man isn’t as insulting as Ryan Murphy’s blind eye productions. Meryl and Nicole are pretty good, but both have already been better in musicals. The whole story is a bit too saccharine and outdated: a Glee spin-off ten years too late.
