during my week-long thanksgiving break, i watched a youtube video about scary youtube videos from pre-2012, many of which are ingrained in my mind as a child with very little internet restriction. skinamarink managed to capture these videos' low-quality, contextless horror. what's scary about this film isn't the jumpscare, it's the atmosphere and what your mind can insert with what little is there. the grain makes you see things that aren't there. who is recording these vhs tapes of these kids? why do we never see faces? has this creature always existed in this house?
