Inoue doesn't reinvent the wheel with his story-telling but, instead, polishes that wheel with such patience and care that it becomes a perfect circle. Two people walked in after the opening sequence and proceeded to whisper to each other the rest of the time.

Admittedly not quite as tense seeing it for the second time in a week while still vividly remembering so many of the basketball sequences but happy to have gotten the chance to see it on a big screen again while there was still time. Even if the screen had a noticeable scratch on it.

    Bro.

I just looked up who wrote this and I'm a fucking idiot for not thinking it would just be Inoue himself. Incredible work, man, what the hell? The way this story was put together really knocked me out, and the opening of this movie I honestly thought was incredible.
