Opazo’s review published on Letterboxd:
This was one of the most charming and depressing films I have seen in a long time. Roberto Benigni did a phenomenal job directing and acting in it. He gave such a standout performence that nobody else than Benigni could have done. The first half of the film is a charming love story and in the second half it turns into a depressing story about family and imagination. The film has so many clever stuff about it that just makes me smile when I think about it. The little boy is just a scene stealer because he is so damn adorable. This was originally gonna be 4 stars but then I saw the ending or the last 10 min and my heart went to pieces I was so close to just burst out tears. If you don’t tear up at the end of this film then you are not human. For the people who has seen this film then you understand why. For those who has not seen it and is planning on doing it, bring tissues.
