american navy propaganda, sure, but i wouldn’t have my american navy propaganda any other way than this. unabashed, glorious sun-kissed pop—every frame of this glows so perfectly, and each line and piece of music is earnestly romantic and triumphantly exhilarating. if anything, this is proof that i’m a sucker for an aggressively 80s movie and further proof that tom cruise has always been one of the best movie stars.

forgot to log this, which i guess says everything. completely forgettable, which isn't necessarily bad, but taking a story that’s this compelling on paper and an ensemble this stacked and presenting it like… this has to be some sort of crime, right? i’d say i’ll watch this and actually pay attention to it instead of working on stuff, but i just don’t want to.
