Boring, bad and the worst kind of slow.
Good: Saw this at the "Surprise" screening at the 2018 Stockholm International Film Festival and suspected it to be an Uwe Boll movie. When the credits proved me wrong I felt kind of sad, as I hoped Boll was the only "provocateure" left making this kind of tripe with a cinema audience in mind. That's the only true emotion this movie provoked from me...
Bad: ...and this movie has a scene where a man literally guts another human being, digs around inside his stomach and pulls out his innards. The "chicken bone"-scene in Bone Tomahawk almost made me lose my lunch, but here I was just left wandering if they used animal offal or if they were created by the special effects team.
Heavily over-written, visually disinteresting, the lighting is ugly in every scene not in complete darkness and it is so poorly acted (for which I 100% blame the direction). Has no heart, no soul, no moral, nothing to say and most sadly, really believes the absolute opposite. Taking 159 minutes to tell a 84 minute plot will need more interesting padding than Vince Vaughn chewing salty sandwiches.
