    It's a Wonderful Life

"To my big brother George, the richest man in town!"

I'm usually not a fan of establishing extra routines or traditions that our lives are already filled with, but It's a Wonderful Life has been a great exception for Christmas and it's absolutely delightful to revisit the film every year. Lupin III: The First

For a film that calls itself THE FIRST – indeed, being the first CG animated entry to the immensely popular series – Takashi Yamazaki's work plays everything awfully safe.

The visual style and the way the animation moves is actually a positive surprise. Journeys in Space and Time: Nobuhiko Ōbayashi

    Ōbayashi Ranked

"Was I truly alive back then?"

Hanagatami is an unbelievably unique Japanese war period drama only Nobuhiko Ōbayashi could have made. Like no other film before! Ōbayashi is a director that most of the even slightly more active moviegoers know - after all his debut film, the absurd horror comedy Hausu, enjoys from its worldwide cult status. However, how many has seen much else from the…
