Haven’t been that bored in a theatre in a long time.
Not as good the second time... it’s one of those films that once you already know what happens there’s no point in watching it again. Even the laughs didn’t hold up for some reason. Still probably the most original (and still probably the most well-constructed film of the year so far), but I don’t know why all these critics are saying it “demands multiple viewings”... When I saw it again I just felt like “.....Yeppp, that’s what happened the first time.” 🤷🏼♂️ No need for two viewings so close together. Eh.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Even though I was interested prior to my viewing; I was still surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Tense, gruesome, and emotionally draining. Give it a go.
EDIT: I saw the film again at the 10pm premiere at a theatre close to my home. It help up well for a second viewing, and one so soon at that, but I want to elaborate a tad on why that fifth star is missing.
