What a Glorious Feeling.
On a technical level, this film is quite possibly perfect. On a more human level, what else can I say? It's evident that not much else besides passion went into this project, and the cast and crew were very largely talented. It's just such a joyous watch from start to finish that I (almost) couldn't take my eyes off it. The musical numbers are all very big, grandiose offerings of its classic era, the madcap zany humor hits nearly 100% of the time, the meta-ness of it all was way ahead of its time, and Cosmo is the greatest character in anything ever maybe (let me sleep on it). Singin' in the Rain is a film completely validated by its status, and one that will not disappoint. Seriously though, I think maybe i'm in love with Cosmo (again, let me sleep on it.)
