Patrick Pryor’s review published on Letterboxd:
I kind of like how Thor: Ragnarok feels like an absurd '80s fantasy in the vein of Krull or Ice Pirates. Giant wolves, humanoid aliens in junk store armor, gleaming castle spires, pleasure cruise airships with Jeff Goldblum holograms all jostle for space on far off worlds as a Mark Mothersbaugh synth score glistens. And that stacked cast! Goth Cate Blanchette and Tessa Thompson as a boozehound Valkyrie got my pulse up, but it was Taika Waititi as a the voice of a rock warrior named Korg and a sinister alien Goldblum that really stole the show and had me fallin' out of my chair! The humor from Waititi's previous Hunt for the Wilderpeople and What We Do in the Shadows makes the transition to a Hollyweird blockbuster. Color me surprised! Thor is the slick popcorn movie with heart and wit that Guardians 2 should've been.
