  • Prisoners

This is probably the best form I've seen Hugh Jackman in, and on top of an already stellar cast too! It's also only the second film I've seen by Denis Villeneuve, but oh boy does he continue to impress.

Prisoners is as relentless as how far Keller is willing to go for his daughter. It's as dreadful as the looming score that seems to intensify while the movie progresses. It'll make your skin crawl throughout and it's climactic finish will make your jaw drop—a butt clencher of a film.

  • Eighth Grade

    Eighth Grade

Eighth Grade is as genuine and heartfelt as Josh Hamilton's character himself. I think anyone—from teens and adults alike—can sympathize with Kayla and her who's-better-than-who world. It's sharp humour, perfect lead and simple, yet visually appealing style make it a coming of age film that stands out from all the rest.

Mr. Burnham, you're a freakin' genius.

    Jurassic Park

It's been a very long time since I've seen this and it honestly didn't feel like a rewatch. Found it terrifying as hell! Also why Jeff Goldblum gotta be all open shirt like that... *smirk*

    Punch-Drunk Love

An anxiety inducing film that will constantly have you by the throat, but keep you sane with it's hilarious yet heartwarming love story. I've only ever seen Phantom Thread by P.T. Anderson and LOL this is quite different.

  • Annihilation

Dread is exactly what you feel throughout Annihilation. Even during a rewatch, the mystery and slow burning intensity builds up as it unfolds. It's beautiful design will give you a sense of wonder and awe while making your skin crawl simultaneously.
