Annette ★★★½

I went in pretty blind for the most part and I think that’s the way to go.

Real happy to see the Ghost of Christmas past getting work since the Muppet Christmas Carol. All jokes aside, I don’t wanna say anything else about baby Annette herself because I feel like it’s something that needs to be experienced firsthand. A very BOLD choice that I think would’ve fallen flat if done any other way. It’s outrageous in so many ways and the payoff is nice enough that I ultimately just didn’t end up questioning it! Baby Annette is just a baby after all.

I really appreciate the operatic nature of it. I understand how that can be a turnoff but I think if you go into it with an open mind and the willingness to appreciate a filmmakers vision you’ll enjoy it regardless of how much you like it… if that makes any sense at all. Not really sure how I feel about it altogether just yet but there’s enough risks taken that it ultimately pays off for me.

Really wish I saw it in a theater but what’re ya gonna do!! Cool flick, looking forward to watching it with friends.
