Easy to please.
Proof that good performances and cinematography do not necessarily make for a good time at the pictures. Narratively this film has absolutely zero to say or ultimately offer the viewer.
The only award Cooper should win here is the 2024 "Jessica Chastain Eyes of Tammy Faye Honorary I'M ACTING SO HARD LOOK AT MEEEEEE" Award. Utterly desperate stuff (he is good but come on, it's so transparent what this is).
Loved when Mulligan showed up for a scene dressed as Judge Judy for some reason.
"Snake Plissken? I heard you were dead!"
Very well done, cool, post-apocalyptic atmosphere with a great John Carpenter score which adds to the spooky, eerie, desolate tone.
The movie is very deliberately paced, which sometimes becomes tedious but generally is fine.
At times it's sloppily edited, and the action often feels hokey and clumsy, but ultimately its not an action movie anyway.
Excellent atmosphere and fun Kurt Russell & Donald Pleasence performances carry the film.
