Paul Miller’s review published on Letterboxd:
I think it was the sense of the historic that drew me to this film. It was moving on several levels; it was striking in several areas. Deaths of characters take a toll on us, I believe. The emergence of new champions and new villains draws on our emotional commitments as well. Bold images become new symbols: the blades of the Jedi and Sith; the gravitas of characters makes a comic moment more memorable: Leia Organa's comment to C-3PO on wiping off a worried expression...ah yes, the plasticity of a droid! No amount of razzle dazzle, though, can make us like the story if there is no story to follow. In the Last Jedi, the story birthed both triumph and sorrow; whimsy and grief. It became a shiny star in the galaxy of films that will make a constellation to inspire us.
