    Land of Silence and Darkness

Not Herzog's best, but very engrossing.

Distressing is the word I'd use to describe this movie. Starts off strong; beautiful skyline and then a terrifying and pissed off Klaus Kinski.

Kinski is good, as is everyone else, but his character is a bit one note. Luckily the film is short.

Great use of slow motion throughout,

A film that really takes in not just the characters, but the locations in a very studied way without forgetting the human heart of it's story.

    More films like this Netflix.

I was struck by how similar Bresson and Hitchcock were in filmmaking style. It's all precise visual details and storytelling through non-verbal means (especially editing). The film hits hard but Bresson already found his perfect protagonist in a donkey.
